Arrival by train

Depending on your route, long-distance trains usually stop at various stations in Berlin. The stations with the best connection to the DBH are Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Station) and Berlin-Gesundbrunnen. The station Berlin-Gesundbrunnen is closer to the Buddhist House than the central station. When booking your ticket, check if the train also stops at Berlin-Gesundbrunnen.

From Berlin Central Station  you can take a taxi or public transportation.

 

Public Transport from the Central Station

By public transport there are several ways to get to Buddhistisches Haus. Depending on the connection, the trip from the main station to Frohnau takes between 40-50 minutes. From there it is a 15-minute walk to the house. In total, you should calculate about 1,15 hours for the journey.

The most comfortable and easiest connection from the main station to the Buddhist House is by S-Bahn (suburban train): From the Hauptbahnhof station you can take any S-Bahn in the direction of Ostkreuz and ride it one stop to Friedrichstraße.  There you change to the S1 in the direction of Oranienburg. Take the S1 to the stop Frohnau.

If you get off the long-distance train at Gesundbrunnen, you only have to take the S1 in the direction of Oranienburg and also get off at the stop Frohnau.

From the Frohnau S-Bahn station it is a 15 minute walk to the Buddhistisches Haus. It is a worthwhile walk through an idyllic Frohnau residential area and makes a wonderful introduction to the seminar.

There is also a taxi service at Frohnau station, Zeltinger Platz (near the post office).

Taxi from the Central Station

A taxi ride from the main station to the DBH takes about 30 minutes and costs about 40€ (price as of 2023).

Please inform the taxi driver about the neighbourhood „Buddhist House Frohnau“, as there are several Buddhist centers in Berlin.

Arrival from the airport Berlin-Brandenburg

Public transport

There are various ways to get to the Buddhist House by public transport. Depending on the connection, the journey from the airport to Frohnau station takes between 1-1.5 hours. From there it is a 15-minute walk to the house. In total, you should calculate about 2 hours for the journey.

The most convenient, cheapest and fastest connection to Berlin-Frohnau is by Airport-Express (FEX) and S-Bahn (suburban train). Take the FEX (or any other regional train from the airport, terminal 1-2) to the stop Gesundbrunnen or Friedrichstraße. At both stations you can change to the S1 in the direction of Oranienburg. Take the S1 to the stop Frohnau.

From Frohnau S-Bahn station it is a 15 minute walk to the house. There is also a cab service at Frohnau station (Zeltinger Platz, near the post office).

Taxi from the airport

A taxi ride from the airport to the DBH takes about 1,10 hours and costs about 90€ (price as of 2023).

 

Arrival with camper

For check-in, you can park on Edelhofdamm or at the bottom of the back driveway to the Buddhist House via Zerndorfer Weg. At the check-in you will find out where you can park your car or camper during the course.
